Who are The Chancres?

Thank you for your interest, so let us answer that pressing frequent question.

The Chancres are a Canberra, Australia economic punk/guff rock band formed in 1978 by guitarist/vocalist Gregory Powell and drummer/vocalist Mark Jarratt. Members are unchanged since soon after formation, also featuring Clive Smith on lead vocals, and Guy Morrison or Christopher Paxman on bass depending on availability.

The Chancres repertoire includes over 50 original tracks; some even sound like music. The distinctive Chancres logo looks much like a striped bowler hat but is a stylised depiction of a chancre.

We invite retro punk aficionado netizens to sample our various all original energetic on the button three beat pounder compositions, join our global legions of fans, and leave us any comments or questions.

Other entertaining musical projects by Chancres members are Minnie and the Moonrakers with guitarist Greg, see and listen at https://www.facebook.com/minnieandthemoonrakers/ and the Futuro SPV and Live in Paris compositions of bassist Guy at:
